    for singular nouns:
l’- L’:This is the elision of LO or LA is used before masculine or female nouns beginning with a vowel.
    for plural nouns:
gli-GLI: It is used whith masculine nouns starting with vowels, the consonant z , cluster gn or clusters made of s+consonant.
le-LE: It is used before any plural female noun
singular female: E l’(la)una / plural female: Sono le due.
I hope this helps somewhat. igual que el Espanol but more complicated: singular (Es La una) plural (Son Las Dos).

I’m am really trying to learn Italian, thanks so much for putting this up. Question: when you say “Sono le Tre”, you capitalize the “T” in tre. Would I always do this if I am writing it, or is this just for emphasis? Thanks
