Yes, the palm orientation is incorrect. Could be because she is not qualified to teach ASL, and “learned” from a book, and now she is spreading her mistakes all across the Internet. Please rate this video one star (“poor”) so that she doesn’t get more fools duped into thinking she knows what she is doing.

Did any notice that her “qualifications” are in Spanish? Want to know what they say? Something like “Melissa helps you with decorating your home.” She is really a broadcasting personality, not a sign language “expert” in any way, in view of the fact that she has ZERO qualifications. She is just acting the part. I agree with BYUFanatic and check out his videos. He is the best ASL teacher on YouTube. Enough said!
Bravo. It’s excellent to see that you (and others) admit that this woman knows nothing about ASL. Anyone can check out a sign language book at a library, but she demonstrates what happens when you learn from a book rather than from a real person who is fluent in the language.
