@RobotBadger: No. Peter Parker may wake up in the morning with spider powers but he’s STILL Peter Parker, that is his real identity. it doesn’t say “Spider-Man” on his driver’s license, that’s his FAKE identity.
i hate people that dont understand Quentin tarrintinos movies (i spelled his name wrong). his movies are so great, and wonderful to discuss, but when people dont understand it im like “OH MY GOD, its so SIMPLE!!!”
maybe he was waiting for the serum to go into full effect and decided to pass the time by sharing a wonderful and quite intellectual analyzation of the mythology of comic book hereos.
Im actually going to recant half of that statement. I had not watched the movie in a few years and when I saw it again the other day the scene was a lot stronger to me. It makes sense and does set up the point he is trying to make about Beatrix. I still am not a great fan of the “invention”.
Bill is a Brilliant Sociopath, he was telling Beatrix the exact reason why leaving was impossible. She was a killer, no matter what, like Superman was always Superman. you figure with the teaching of so many masters he learned something about plants, so he knows what chemicals to mix. This Speech was a neccesity to truly understand how Bill felt about Beatrix Kiddo
I don’t care how intelligent a person might think they are watching this movie and that they “appreciate” the underlying meanings of what’s being said. It is a useless addition to the movie and brings it down 10 notches from where it was before this dialogue came into play.
This is the worst scene in the entire film. When I say film I mean Vol. 1 & 2. Bill introduces a truth telling serum that he “invented”. At what point did we ever learn that the guy was so incredible of a person that he was also an inventor. Then he goes on to the Superman speech which has nothing to do with whats going on. You wait all the years to find out that the woman you loved is still alive and has come to kill you so you take your sweet ass time to talk about nonsense.
awesome dilouge tarintino is amazing
You’re missing the point. Peter Parker wakes up as Peter Parker, not Spiderman. To be Spiderman he has to become a different person.
Klark Kent is superman’s critique of humanity, weak
@Gonowo …. yea exactly, and peter parker “hides behind a mask”….you can see who superman is…also emphasizing Bill’s point in the clip
how can it be a pessimistic view of how superman wears a costume? i see it as inspirational

Except Peter Parker was born human and didn’t get his powers until he was bitten by the spider. Superman was born with his powers.
Bad simile. Peter Parker wakes up in the morning as spider-man, and Superman wakes up as Superman. Both wear a suit to play their super-hero roles.
@1080portal true, but then theres just people who dont have a clue. haha
@PowerShotHo24 theres more than one way to view a situation.
Thooperman
Definitely an interesting, albeit pessimistic, view of the meaning of Superman.
motherfuckernow

This scene is goddamn fantastic. I’d say it was David Carradine’s best scene, but really he never had anything close to this.
Oh, wow. I have NEVER thought about Superman that way. Brilliant!!
it’s true, never really thought about it that way
maybe he was waiting for the serum to go into full effect and decided to pass the time by sharing a wonderful and quite intellectual analyzation of the mythology of comic book hereos.
superman 1 is fucking awesome
I don’t think you’ve completely understood the film, perhaps you should watch it agian?
