For example, us English-speakers usually say that French is a romantic, nice sounding language and German is quite harsh. What do people say about the sound of the English language?
My real question is is it taught as a modern conversational language rather than as a language for literature like Padraig O’Connaire short stories? I expect the technology used has moved forward and that is not my question, my concern is is it taught in a more young student friendly manner?
Can you compare the two with the English language and a related language?
I have an assignment in my english class where I am supposed to write a short story and I have to write it using a writing pattern. The only example we got was Hero’s Journey. I don’t really want to use this pattern because I think so will most of the class. Are there any other writing patterns? And are there sites taht list the steps?

Compared to other Asian languages, Indonesian seems very different. First of all, Indonesian uses Latin alphabet unlike many languages in Asia that use characters of their own (Chinese and Arabic for instance). In addition, a lot of Indonesian words come from other language making it more similar to a European language rather than an Asian language. Also I’ve heard that Indonesian is easier to learn rather than other Asian languages. Finally, Indonesian has fairly easy grammar. Why it is not similar to most Asian language?
