Good Question: Should Immigrants Learn English?
With Lino Lakes voting to make English the official language and part of Arizona’s new law taking effect, immigration is on a lot of our viewers’ minds. Should new immigrants to the United States be required to learn English?
I am writing a science research project. My question is What cause kidney stones. How should i write my introduction paragraph?
I am in a writing class for college and our assignment is to write a 1000 word profile essay on someone inspirational. I have already interviewed/examined a lady I know who has two autistic children and I have also gone on a ride along with a woman sheriff. I found them both inspirational I just need some help getting started and writing an A paper.
I have to write a restaurant review for my college writing class. Has to be about 1 1/2 pages (double spaced I presume). I went to the restaurant, and I took down notes and made sure to answer questions such as “reservations? cuisine? price range? wine list? etc.”. But the problem I’m having is what tone or style I should use to write a restaurant review.
Should it be like a story? Or like a descriptional piece? I know restaurant reviews are meant to be a little more “fun” than conventional essays, but where do i draw the line?

I want to write a freelance article on a specific topic, and am getting ready to write query letters. I know it’s important to give sources of where I would be getting my information and people I can interview. Should I find and contact possible sources prior to writing the query letter so I can give specific names of people, or just generally say “I am planning to interview doctors specializing in…?” Which is better and more effective? I’d love some advice from successful freelance writers, if possible. Thanks!
I already know English Spanish and American Sign Language, but i need another language for my degree. What would be similar to these and easy to learn? I’m thinking Portuguese?
I am in an awkward position, but basically trying to find a job in engineering (not computer engineering, possibly product development or signals processing) and I thought maybe if I pick up a mainstream programming language I would be more suitable for the work environment. Don’t worry about my ability to learn it, I have some familiarity with programming already. Thanks!
I’m applying for a freelance copywriting position with an online marketing company. What kind of writing sample should I send to something like this? I have a BA and MA in English. I have tons of academic research papers but is that what they want? I’ve also written press releases, memos and reports for my current job. I just don’t know what would be appropriate to submit. Please help.
I am a new writer and i someday want to write six fantasy books i have been planning for a year now, but I’m afraid I don’t have the writing ability for that yet. I don’t want to screw up my story, so should i start out by writing a simpler story about a Danish ancestor of mine, in order to gain more experience before I start my big story?
I’m going to be a freshmen in high school. I signed up for French, but I read someone else’s question that I should take Latin because medicines or whatever are in Latin. So what should I do? Is it okay to stay in French? Or should I switch to Latin; if I can.
If I want to become a dermatologist, does it really matter what language I take?
